Meetings for equine healthcare professionals

At the Sporthorse Medical Diagnostic Centre (SMDC), we believe in the power of collaboration. That’s why we organize five MDAs (Multidisciplinary Evenings) each year: inspiring and interactive meetings for veterinarians, equine dentists, physiotherapists, and farriers involved in the care of the sport horse.

Meeting content

These evenings focus on sharing knowledge, experience, and perspectives. By looking at cases from different disciplines, a more complete picture of the issues emerges, allowing us to reach better diagnoses and more effective treatment plans together. This perfectly reflects the philosophy of SMDC: working in a multidisciplinary and evidence-based way to improve the health and performance of the horse.

Each meeting includes:

Engaging presentations on current topics in orthopedics, rehabilitation, sports medicine, farriery, and/or dentistry
Group discussion of cases, where participants are also invited to present their own cases
Room for open discussion and the exchange of insights between different disciplines
Networking opportunities that encourage collaboration and strengthen professional connections

Location and costs

The MDA evenings are held at the SMDC location in Heesch and are free of charge for the professionals mentioned above within the equine veterinary sector. Accreditation points can be requested.

By learning and reflecting together on daily practice, we aim to contribute to better collaboration and a higher standard of horse care in the Netherlands.
