SMDC E-consult platform

Starting mid-May 2020, the Sporthorse Medical Diagnostic Center will offer the opportunity to provide advice to our clients via a specially equipped platform (linked to an app). Below you can read how this works and what you can expect. If you still have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at

Why the SMDC E-consultation Platform?

Currently the SMDC team is often consulted for feedback, advice, opinions, etc. through many different communication channels. We want to store privacy-sensitive information safe and in a user-friendly way.

What does the SMDC E-consultation Platform offer?

– Digital innovation in a safe environment
– User-friendly communication with clients, colleagues (veterinarians, physiotherapists, farriers, dentists and other practitioners)
– Central file creation: all communication about a patient can be viewed by the client and linked practitioners

How does the SMDC E-Consult Platform work?

Clients can be invited (by email) to easily create an account (via app or desktop). As soon as an account is created, a digital consultation room is created for a specific horse. This consultation room can be shared with several practitioners and other parties involved. In addition to feedback (chat), images (photos and videos) can be shared. This way, the entire management team around the horse has insight into current affairs and all data is managed centrally (secure). The company Zaurus (also name of the app) provides the platform and has many years of expertise in the field of safe communication in healthcare.

Are there costs associated with the SMDC-E Consult Platform?

Yes. The standard fee for this is 25 euros (ex VAT), for short and extended questions respectively 15 euros (ex VAT) and 35 euros (ex VAT). If an E-consult results in an appointment at our centre, the costs will be deducted.

How do I activate my account for the SMDC E-consultation Platform?

Upon request clients will receive an email from us with a link to register and open their personal account. Below are some links to videos with detailed explanations. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at
