In most cases, the examination begins with a comprehensive <g id=\"gid_0\">blood test<\/g>. The evaluation is performed by a European specialist (Diplomate ECVSMR) and may include several components.  <\/p><h6>Exercise test<\/h6><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An exercise test is the ideal method to objectively measure a horse\u2019s endurance. Depending on the horse\u2019s discipline and level, a suitable type of exercise is selected. During the test, various parameters are measured, such as heart rate, lactate (lactic acid) levels, and motion analysis. A heart recording (ECG) during exercise can also be included. Additionally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sporthorsemdc.com\/en\/examination-and-diagnosis\/internal-sports-medicine\/blood-tests\/\">blood samples<\/a> are taken before and after exercise, and the results are compared.    <\/p><p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The results of the exercise test are compared with those of healthy, well-performing horses in the same category (similar discipline, level, and age). When exercise tests are repeated regularly on the same horse, this allows continuous monitoring of the horse\u2019s endurance. <\/p><p>Based on the results, targeted examinations of other body systems may be performed. These typically include the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sporthorsemdc.com\/en\/examination-and-diagnosis\/internal-sports-medicine\/respiratory-examination\/\">respiratory system<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sporthorsemdc.com\/en\/examination-and-diagnosis\/internal-sports-medicine\/cardiac-examination\/\">heart<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sporthorsemdc.com\/en\/examination-and-diagnosis\/orthopedic-examination\/\">musculoskeletal system<\/a>. <\/p><h6>Muscle biopsy<\/h6><p class=\"p1\">A muscle biopsy involves collecting a small sample of muscle tissue to detect muscle diseases. The procedure is relatively simple and minimally invasive, yet it often provides valuable information for diagnosis and optimal training guidance. <\/p><h6>Genetic testing<\/h6><p class=\"p1\">Genetic testing in sport horses is used to detect hereditary muscle disorders such as PSSM1 (Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy Type 1). With a simple blood test, it can be determined whether a horse carries a genetic mutation that increases the risk of muscle problems. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f0bcfa3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f0bcfa3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Same-day results available<\/h2><p>Our specialists combine the results of this examination with a thorough clinical assessment, training history, information about the horse\u2019s goals, and any additional diagnostic findings.
